America’s Best Dance Crew

For a grand prize of $100 000 and a beautiful golden trophy, amazing dance crews from within and outside America come to compete on the stage of America’s Best Dance Crew. ABDC show first premiered on MTV in 2008, and after seven seasons, producers canceled the show in 2012 but came together for the 8th season in 2015.

Dance Moms

Dance Moms allows us to see the reality, struggle and show biz behind the life of children dancers and their rather unusual trainer, Abby Lee Miller. Of course, the show doesn’t sideline the moms who make sure their daughters are on top of their careers. In this light, Dance moms follow the relationship and drama between the trainer, the moms, and their children as they travel around the US to compete in dance competitions and the coaching from their trainer to make them world-class employable dancers. Their trainer Abby Lee Miller uses a rather different approach to build her girls, and this is almost 100% criticism. Dance Mom interests us for its uniqueness and its intentionality to making their girls skillful dancers.

Dance Moms launched in 2013 on Lifetime and has made stars like Jojo Siwa. However, the show was canceled last year after some controversy around the trainer, Abby.

Dancing With The Stars

On Dancing With The Stars, celebrities couple up with professional dancers to compete for the beautiful ‘Mirrorball’ trophy and almost half of a million dollars, although it isn’t a fixed price. This show is great on television, and thankfully it is still in production, so you get to experience everything we say about it and more for yourself in the next episode. This show premiered in June 2005 on ABC.

It’s always interesting to see stars who aren’t normally great at dancing put in so much effort and, most times, successfully get the moves and stunts in ballroom, contemporary, and jazz dance. Of course, you know that dancing prolongs life. More precisely, that an active lifestyle prolongs it. But we think we’ll surprise you now. With what? Imagine, statistics.

Experts have studied the causes of premature mortality from the diseases that most often lead to death: diabetes, atherosclerosis, heart disease, neoplasms, cirrhosis of the liver and diseases of the brain. And looked at how life expectancy for people suffering from these diseases is affected by 4 factors: health care, heredity, environment, and lifestyle.

What do you think the statistics showed?

It turned out that life expectancy is least affected by … health care. Yeah, imagine that. Only 11%.

Environment came in third: 16%.

Genetic factors came in second: 25%.

But our life expectancy is 48% dependent on our lifestyle.

Can you imagine? The lifestyle we lead, the way we spend our free time, is more than 4 times more important than medicine! And almost twice as important as heredity!

In other words, a healthy lifestyle is the dominant factor in premature mortality, accounting for almost half of all premature deaths. Just imagine: millions of people around the world shorten their lives because of the wrong way of living.
